Dr. Oliver B. Antic Ambassador of R. Serbia to Portugal and to Cabo Verde

CURRICULUM VITAE

Prof. Dr Oliver B. Antić was born in Belgrade where he completed Primary school, Grammar school and Law School (Faculty of Law). He obtained a Masters degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade in 1978 and a PhD in 1983.

Oliver B. Antić teaches as assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade since 1975. He was elected in rank of Assistant Professor from 1984-1990 and Associate Professor from 1990 to 1996. Oliver B. Antić became a Professor (full time professor) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade in 1996.

In 1987/88 he was given a Fulbright Scholarship (Hutchings Hall, University of Michigan Law School, USA).

Dr O. Antic delivered lectures both in Serbia (one of the lectures he delivered in the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts) and abroad.

Other positions:

  • Chairman of the State Committee for Reform of Law of Inheritance (Succession);
  • Member of the Committee for Reform of Contract Law;
  • Head of Department for Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Eastern Sarajevo;
  • Member of the Educational and Publishing Board of the Kopaonik School of Natural Law;
  • Member of the Committee for drafting the Civil Code of Serbia;
  • Chairman of the Bar Exam Board;
  • Chairman or arbiter in courts of arbitration in many cases of international trade disputes;
  • Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade;
  • Director of the Institute of Comparative Law;
  • Editor in chief of “The Yearbook of East Sarajevo Law School”;
  • Member of the Editorial Board of the International Encyclopaedia KLUWER, The Hague;
  • Member of the Editorial Board of the “Academia Juris”, Ankara, Turkey;
  • Professor in the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Belgrade;
  • High Representative of R. Serbia for succession of former Yugoslavia;
  • Chief Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  • Advisor to the President of the Republic of Serbia and Special Envoy of the President to Europe, North and South America and Africa.
