Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with Ambassador of Portugal to Serbia Maria da Silva Pina about the bilateral relations of the two countries and the European integration of Serbia in the light of Portugal’s chairmanship of the Council of the European Union, which starts in January 2021.

Brnabic pointed out that membership in the European Union is a priority of the government, and accelerated work in the field of rule of law and judicial reform is the focus this and next year.

Da Silva Pina expressed her belief that the new methodology of negotiations will contribute to the acceleration of the process of European integration of Serbia.

As for the enlargement policy, Ambassador Da Silva Pina stated that Portugal will advocate progress in the integration of the Western Balkans region.

Da Silva Pina praised the success of Serbia in maintaining the stability of the economy in the difficult conditions of the epidemic and pointed out that these are the results of good economic policy and difficult reforms that the state has implemented in the previous period.
